We have had the privilege of taking our work to a range of events and places. See where it is making an impact.

Sustainable Learning in Ecuador

During 2018 and 2019, two training programs were undertaken with 185 professionals involved in education, higher education institutions, non-profit organizations, private and public educational institutions, public and private sector officials. There were 97 participants in 2018 and 88 participants in 2019.

Participants in the expert group undertook 150 hours of training – 24 hours face-to-face training with the team from Melbourne University Graduate School of Education, and 126 hours online training supported by ALATA.

The Student as Learner – at home

Two subjects at the University of Melbourne allow students to explore the ideas within Sustainable Learning, with a focus on knowing every student as a unique learner. The units provide opportunities to explore and discuss implications for teaching that are related to the consideration of learners’ profiles of capabilities and how teachers facilitate the quality, depth and active nature of their learning

Transforming Education Internationally

There exists much incredible diversity of learners and we need to be excited by it and value it, and use it to enrich our teaching-learning relationships

All students can learn and are entitled to full-time teaching

Students who have disabilities or experience learning difficulties require flexible use of changes of intensity of learning opportunities and teaching strategies and this works best for all learners

Education prepares citizens for altering, refining and renewing ATRiUM capabilities and thus for whole of life functioning

World Education Summit

Everything about education is cultural; learners are not separate from their culture, communities and families

Indigenous ways of knowing, being and doing have much to offer to whole person development and thriving of all learners and educational communities

Evidence is essential in all steps of teaching, research evidence gives direction, and other types of evidence will tell us how effectively we are teaching and how successfully students are learning

Some students will learn despite the teaching, while others depend totally on the ‘teaching that matters’, i.e.,  Responsive Teaching for Sustainable Learning
